About Microneedling with PRP
Forever Slender Med Spa offers microneedling, a procedure that punctures tiny holes into the skin on your face, neck, or chest to stimulate skin repair. As an added benefit, your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be applied to the same area to further help tissue heal and allow the skin to grow new cells. These two treatments together are often referred to as the vampire facial and can reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles, spots, and other skin issues. The texture of your skin can be greatly improved to appear smoother and more even without damaging the skin. If you would like to learn more about the microneedling with PRP treatment, schedule a one-on-one consultation with a member of our team at our office in Wayland, MA.

An ideal candidate for microneedling with PRP would be anyone looking to change the appearance or texture of the surface of their face. Dry skin, uneven skin tone, rough texture, age spots, loose skin, wrinkles, acne and scarring are all skin conditions that could benefit from a microneedling with PRP treatment. This treatment can also be used to help combat the effects of sun damage that may have caused your skin to have a rough texture or hyperpigmentation.
Prior to the microneedling section of your treatment, someone from our medical staff will draw your blood for the PRP collection. The drawn blood will then be taken to our lab for the separation process where your stem cells, platelets, and growth factors will be condensed into PRP. For the microneedling treatment, Forever Slender Med Spa uses state-of-the-art technology to create tiny holes in your skin. The small needles used will not damage your skin but will instead help stimulate the production of collagen. Once the microneedling is complete, the PRP serum will be applied to the skin to sink in. After the PRP is fully absorbed, we will remove the serum and cleanse your skin.
What to Expect
Following your microneedling with PRP treatment, you may experience some normal effects such as bruising, swelling, and redness. We recommend that you do not wear makeup, use abrasive skin cleansers or submerge in a swimming pool for approximately 72 hours post-treatment. These activities can expose your skin to harsh chemicals and bacteria which could lead to adverse reactions. You should also limit sun exposure or use protective measures when going outside. Final results are typically seen within several weeks as the skin works to repair and heal itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does microneedling with PRP cost?
The cost of microneedling with PRP is priced by assessing the size of the area(s) being treated. After a consultation with our team, we will develop a treatment plan based on your needs and goals, then cost can be discussed. Forever Slender Med Spa occasionally offers discounts and specials on treatments like microneedling with PRP. Ask us about these and payment methods we accept when you are scheduling your consultation.
How effective are microneedling with PRP treatments?
While the results from microneedling with PRP treatments may not be visible right away, the growth factors in the platelet-rich plasma serum help to stimulate the growth of healthier, stronger skin over time. To achieve optimal results, you may need several treatments initially as well as touch up sessions. Our team will discuss what to expect during your consultation.
How many microneedling with PRP treatments should I get?
Ideally, you should schedule a series of treatments every few weeks when you first begin. Depending on the condition of your skin at the start and your specific aesthetic goals, we can create a tailored treatment plan that will refresh and rejuvenate your skin. In between treatments, it's a good idea to schedule a facial or other treatments to remove old skin and nourish new growth.
How often should I get microneedling with PRP treatments?
After your initial session, we recommend scheduling maintenance microneedling with PRP sessions 2 – 4 times a year. How frequently you'll need them can vary according to the health of your skin and aesthetic goals. Our team will develop your unique microneedling with PRP treatment plan by assessing how often we believe you should receive treatments.
Should I get microneedling with PRP or injectable wrinkle treatments?
Injectables provide fast and effective results, leaving you looking and feeling rejuvenated almost instantly. Microneedling with PRP provides long-term rejuvenation and strengthens the treated skin. Depending on your aesthetic goals and skin condition, you may have microneedling with PRP performed alone or alongside an injectable wrinkle treatment like BOTOX, Juvéderm, or Restylane. During your consultation, we can discuss your options and create a treatment plan that works for you.
